Sorry, another exhaust ?
Hi? everyone. I have a 98 LS. Last summer I bought some stupid generic catback from e-bay (cough..the name brand is BOMB) Anyway, it is loud as hell.... I got used to it but sometimes on highway ( like around 3500rpm) I can't even hear the other person talking to me. My girlfriend complains, that her ear hurts. Now it seems like it's getting louder and, I notice that my floor vibrates............ I need help?!?!?
So I did research, read all of you guys' topics. And it sounds like Apexi WS is for me. Since I want quite exhaust, but not stock. So my question is that I understand WS is pretty quite, but is it loud when it's in high rpm? I do lot of highway driving.
I am planning to do it as soon as it warms up outside. I live in MN now it's outside cold as hell. Also I am thinking about doing full Dynamat in my car. well any opinion is appreciated. Thanks

apexi WS is pretty quite, good product for the cost. you could also go with rsr, or if you got the money is the mugen twin loop (cheaper version of the twin loop would be the dc sport one). since you live in somewhere that gets a lot of snow, i would get something that is s/s. i have the greddy sp2 and its a s/s with 3 year warr. however i dont think its very good at the highway.
I used to have the RS*R on my old integra, and it was perfectly acceptable on the highway. You could hear a slight hum/drone but nothing that would overpower the radio or talking to a friend at all. It's the quietest aftermarket exhaust I've heard and I would get it over again in a second.
One notable difference between the A'PEXi WS and RS*R Exmag is that only the Exmag has stainless pipes. The WS has mild steel pipes. That right there would sway me in the direction of the Exmag.
The WS doesn't drone at all on the freeway. Not to the point where its noticable at least. The only time when i can really notice the exhaust is when it's at idle or when i drive at low rpms. But when you really get on the throttle, the intake takes over. I can't say how it sounds without an intake though. All in all i'm quite happy with the WS.
I got my apexi WS about a month ago, and I love it. Not some pos rice sound.
I would have to agree with Born To Lose's description, but I love how I can hear the engine/intake over the exhaust when i gun it. A exhaust should never over take the sound of the motor when u push it to the floor in my opinion and thats why the WS, Rs-R are great Cat backs. And they both look great on a integ.

I'm also looking to install an after-market exhuast on my 95 GS-R and I've heard very good things about the Apexi WS and RS*R Exmag.
I'm about 99% sure I'll be going with the RS*R Exmag when the time comes, but, from what I've read thus far, they don't make RS*R for 4 doors, I've only seen them for 2 doors.
If anyone knows different, please give me a holler, oh, and will the RS*R Exmag have any trouble getting pass the bi-yearly smog test? I hope so...
Peace Out
