Default 92 Integra Antenna

Hey Everyone,

My girlfriend finally got everything settled with her 92 Integra except for the antenna. The mechanic said that the motor was toast and the mast is gone. I am looking for alternatives for the $200+ Acura antenna. I read about the s2000 antenna but do not want to go through the trouble. She just wants something that will give her good reception and not look like ass. I saw someone bought an antenna from ebay. How hard is it to replace a powered antenna with a non-powered? How about a powered antenna from autozone or something? Any tips for installation? All help is appreciated.

Thanks

The aftermarket antenna's never seen to fit right without using a bunch of spacers and then it ends up looking worse than it did before. Have you looked into a roof mount antenna? They run about $50 and look pretty good. My g/f and I both have the Zendar CarFlex, here's a pic of hers:

I've done that antenna conversion also on a g2. I used the Fuba antenna, but they're all about the same. I got mine from www.locustom.com for like $20. It was kind of a pain to do and took some trial and error, but it worked great and I loved the way it looked:bigok:

I replaced my stock motorized antenna after some ba$tard in a Mall parking lot decided to bend it. I just went out and got one of those aftermarket replacements at my local autoparts store...it works fine as far as reception goes...but it was kind of a pain to install and to this day, 3 years later, it makes this annoying "CLUNK-CLUNK" when extending and retracting. It was a cheapie-fix so Im just waiting for the damn thing to break so I can replace it with something better...

LeftCorner...How did you re-route the wire for the antenna to the roof? BTW your Girlfriends 'teg looks NICE!

The Zendar CarFlex comes with a 20' lead that works nicely.
