Default Bottle neck effect

How many of you are running a DC JDM header wit the 2.5 collect wit a high flow 2.5 cat with a standard exaust like the Apexi N1 which is not 2.5?. Im getting ready to purchase my header and will be faced with this problem so i was wondering how the set up performs and what problems it faces.

thanks.

My roommate is running the JDM ITR header on his GSR, with a 2.5" cat and Apex'i N1 exhaust...works just fine.

Not many places. Hytech, SMSP, Header-Tech are the main ones, and they're pretty high dollar (~$1200). You could also have a local exhaust shop custom make a crush bent system for ~$325, but crush bent exhausts are not as good as mandrel bent systems. Some shops can make a custom mandrel bent system by combining a bunch of mandrel bent elbows into one exhaust system. I don't know anyone who has done this, or what it would cost.

my brother bought his 2.5 exhaust from www.accordinglydone.com but the site is down right now. since you're in maryland, i'd suggest you look into smsp cause they're close to you. they make one of the best, and quietest exhausts.

You can run the Apex'i N1, after all it's only 1/8" smaller than a 2.5" exhaust...it's 2 3/8"

Unless your engine is fully built, which I doubt it is, you should be more than fine with an N1.

yea i wasnt going to bother wit going with the 2.5 custom cat back until i had at least Cams and Pistons. As long as the header and cat will give me noticeable gains now then im happy.
