Default Tire decision...

Just wondering what kinda tires should i get for my R that don't make it so i have to rev up to no end to get a good launch, i don't really wanna be launching at like 6500-7000 grand and jsut wanna know what you guys use and how you launch...

I have kuhmo supra ecsta 712's on my car..tey are super grippy, and i launch atlike 4500 with no probs...try tirerack.com..badass place..

thx, yeah that place is awesome
you launch at 4500? thats awesome, but do you drop out of vtec or bog hardcore or anything?

same here, but they came with my car when i bought my GSR from Carmax....

the funny thing is, i went to Discount Tire, and they wanna charge 450 installed, and then went to Carmax outta curiosity, they wanna charge 800 installed...they have gone mad.

kumhos rock for the price...obviously not the best tires you can get, but i have no problem with them....you'll notice some limitations...but no complaints..

Of course...there are better tires..=)...your right though..for the price there is nothing like em...

I have the 712s on my GS-R. Great tire for the price (got mine for $60/ea. on tirerack). However I recently heard great things about the Falken Azenis Sport. Someone said it's way more grippy than the 712. It's $76 on tires.com in the 205/50 size. I'm guessing it's very grippy but much less durable (treadwear of 200 versus 340 for the 712). So the trade-off is grip versus longevity. Your call.
