Default wiring question

where does the wire that runs from the ebrake run to? the one that says if the e-brake is down or not...yeah the one connected to the e-brake sensor so ur abs doesn't turn off....that line got fried so i want to replace it before i sell my car

your e brake has nothing to do with your abs light coming on. it would be your brake light.

yes like i said the e-brake signal that shows that the e-brake is up while driving is on...this is due to the fact that the switch wire is burnt out and so the signal isn't being carried onto the the "switchboard" i suppose to disable the light from turning on and thus it causes the abs to disable itself

oh ok i see wut your talking about. i havnt really dealt to much with burnt cars but i know the cable runs back to the brake caliper i think and there is like a wire that runs under the carpet to the main wire plug that goes through the fire wall i think. but dont quote me on that one man sorry about that.

anyone got a picture i can see so i can get this fixed cause i know if i got to the dealer it's going to run me a pretty penny

That wire must be shorting to ground. The way it's supposed to work, is when the handbrake lever is UP, the switch closes the circuit. If yours is on all the time, then the wire must be touching ground somewhere. Gotta look around for where the short is located.

so i can do this myself correct? and what is required for the fix? do i just replace the shorted area of the wire or the whole wire?

the cheapest (in every aspect, but it would work) way to fix it would be find the short and wrap it with electrical tape.
