Will broken EGR valve hurt my engine?
I have a question - my Acura has a Check Engine Light on and AutoZone scanned it for me (twice) and they get the code that says "EGR valve flow insufficient". I know what the EGR valve does - it puts the exhaust back into the cyliders to reduce emissions. Can I still drive it for a long time if my EGR valve is not working? Or will this hurt my engine in a long run?
Thanks for any help!

By all means, I do not just go on my opinion, but...
I think you would be ok. It's just an emissions issue as far as I know. You will just be adding extra pollutants into the air, which we don't have to worry about now. Future generations will have the problem. I'm j/k, one car isnt gonna make a huge difference in pollution.

I am frankly inquiring about the idea in general, because I have had this problem on several cars, including my RL. I keep hearing more opinions that it doesn't matter for the engine and performance.
