80 mph at 4k rpm sound right for GSR tranny?

Im trying to set my speedo and I think I remember something like 80 mph was at 4,000 rpm exactly. Can I get any verification from my fellow GSR owners?

Stock? What mods have you done?
If you look at this thread you'll see dom93hatch doing closer to 100 mph at ~4800 rpm.

wtf?> 5th gear?

In my GS-R i hit 80 at 3-4k rpm in 4th..

the GS-R's manual should tell you the MPH at redline in each gear, so figure it out from there

ShastSmae 12-31-2003 12:32 PM

Okay cool, thats what I thought. Yeah its aight but my motor is basicaly bone stock (I'm probably pulling like 14.8 at best) On the freeway Im just another integra because its power:wind intead of power:weight ratio. (first 1/8 I have the advantage)

Damn dude, are you sure you dont have a ls tranny?

AirWaveGT 12-31-2003 12:41 PM

I have a 2001 GSR and I'm right about 4K RPM at 80mph. Wish there was a 6th gear to bring the revs down to about 3.3K or so. I'm sure the engine would have sufficient power to maintain that speed not to mention better gas mileage.

I've seen people swap a 5th gear from a DC4 tranny into a GSR tranny before.

This is the answer to this thread:

94-01 GSR
RPM 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th
500 2 4 6 8 10
1000 5 8 12 15 20
1500 7 13 17 23 30
2000 10 17 23 31 40
2500 12 21 29 38 50
3000 15 25 35 46 60
3500 17 29 41 54 70
4000 20 33 47 61 81
4500 22 38 52 69 91
5000 25 42 58 77 101
5500 27 46 64 84 111
6000 29 50 70 92 121
