Default Clutch Issue?

I just finished replacing the factory engine in my 90 integra. Using the original trans and set up (clutch, pressure plate, etc) as I was using before doing the engine swap. The trans and clutch and all worked perfectly before disassembling it. Since I put it back together there are a few issues. The car will start up fine, but will not go into any gear after its started. Now, if I turn it off it will go into any gear, and when I start it in 1st or rev. it runs fine in that gear but will not allow me to switch gears, or take it out of that gear.

Since everything worked as its suppose to before disassembling it, im betting I did something wrong. Looking around on here and other web sites, apparently its a common mistake to put the clutch back on backwards?? I called myself making sure I checked everything before I put everything back together, but I had a few late nights working on the car so its possible. Would the clutch being installed backwards explain the way its acting? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Did you bleed it properly? Is the slave cylinder moving at all?

what series engine (and year) was in the car originally?
what engine did you swap in?
did you use the flywheel from the original engine?
what does the clutch pedal feel like when you engage the clutch?
how much free play does the clutch cable have?

Sounds like your clutch is not engaging all the way. If it doesn't feel the same way when you step on the clutch as it did before you did the swap I would think the cable is loose. Also if you reassembled the clutch with the pressure plate backwards that will be a problem.
