1991 Integra: Newbie question on dying climate control motor
Hi,
My first post to this board. I did a search but didn't see a post with a similar problem.
I have a 1991 Acura Integra Hatchback. I've had trouble with the climate control fan in that it only works on the highest and second highest setting; the two lower fan setting do not turn on the fan.
The fan now has crapped out and when I move the knob to either of the the two highest settings, they blow at normal speed then after 2-3 seconds the fan slows down like the motor is dead. I do hear a slight noise so I think the fan is barely turning.
Any suggestions. I'm new to fix it yourself so if you can also guide me to handy books (and where to purchase them), that would be great also.

1. Buy the factory service manual from www.helminc.com
2. It sounds like it's the fan relay which is on top of the blower motor. You should be able to get to it without taking the motor out. I would take it out and test it or replace it. It is much easier than taking out the blower motor which I have done. Good luck. :thumbup:
