Default Exhaust questions.

I'm looking for recomendations on exhaust set-ups. I'm looking for decent gains as far as header/highflow cat and full catback exhaust. My one concern is that I don't want my car to sound like a weedeater. Any suggestions on an exhaust set-up that would foot the bill here? I did a search but didn't see anything that satisfied me. Thanks.

Deluded.

Comptech Race header with 2.5" collector

Carsound cat

GReddy Evo2, APEXi WS, RS Ex-Mag, or Comptech catback

i'd probably step up to bigger exhaust if you were using the comptech race header.

I'm just gonna stick with 2.25" piping. Anything more and I may as well go turbo(not a bad idea in it's self except my engine has 112k miles on it). I'm only looking for moderate gains. Just something to make my daily grind more of a fun experience. I've done a decent amount of suspension work, now I just need a little more power. Anyway thanks for the suggestions, and by all means keep 'em coming.

Oh yeah, remember, I don't wanna sound like bee's in a tin can.

True... but a bottleneck of 2.36" (On the GReddy Evo2 at least) isn't too bad considering his goals.. 2.36 should be able to handle most streetable NA setups and mild turbos...

And, FYI, GReddy Evos are probably the best and most mild sounding straight-through muffler designs... Hell, I've had muscle car guys compliment me on having a 4 banger that actually sounds ballsy!

But I wont deny that it can get a little loud, esp at wider throttle positions, but WOT positively screams in a good way, and it's quite livable below 4K...

I'm glad I bought it, and I wish that I had the chance to get the SS version that's now out, but I'm not replacing a one year old exhaust for almost the exact same thing...

Since the subject is up.

I was wondering about this set up:

JDM 4-1 Header

Jackson racing, or other high flow cat

And the RS*R EXMag Exhaust.

I'll definately not get the obx "cat". Maybe cheaper than the Jackson racing though. I like the JDM 4-1 header because i would be able to have the heat shields on so i can get it inspected. I want to have a quiet exhaust. On the RS*R exhaust is there a certain muffler they use that can be bought or is it made by the company.

Thanks

I have an Apexi WS on my LS it's worked out great for me. No problems. You can't really hear it when your idoling or when your just cruising but when you really step on it you can tell it's there. I would suggest it.
