Default Which engine do I choose?

I recently found and purchased a 1995 integra ls for really cheap. It has 85000 mi and I am looking to drop in a new engine. Anyone have a suggestion as to what I should use, and why?

Well, if the engine compression turns out OK, and most everything is in good condition, I'd say keep it and turbo it... much faster car for cheaper!

Yea? Why change it? This is a Honda you're talking about. Not a Volkswagen.

When my Volkswagen hits 85-100k I'll start to worry. You've got nothing to worry about until at least 150k if it's taken care of.

you could get another b18b, or b20b or z, or if you have the funds go for a b18c1 or 5 swap. those would be the motors of choice for your car.

thanks sick79. the b18c1 is what i am leaning towards. to answer why i want to change in the first place: the car only cost me 1500 so i have plenty left to play with. also i am doing it to try and learn the car (and cars in general) inside and out.

If money isn't an issue, drop in a b18c5, but since you just got the car for so cheap, I'm assuming it is. Either keep the engine now and turbo it as previously mentioned, or get a b18c1 or b20z (crv motor I think). Whatever you do, don't get a b16 :squint:
