Default painting/primer help

i got in an accident the other day and i need a new bumper and hood. those i am getting from the junkyard. i dont have enough money to paint everything now but after the accident lots of paint came off my fenders to expose the metal. i dont want my fenders to rust so how should i cover it? paint it with primer? i am not sure the best way to tackle this job. however in the summer time i will repaint the entire car.

Go to Kragen and Just get a can of dupli-color automotive paint, ask the guy there, which one is the Honda OEM color of your car. then just spray it on. You could even get a can of clear coat to give it a nice shine. You might have to wet sand it with with liek 800 grit to blen it in!! Good luck

Ditto. Very important to not let rust get a foothold onto that bare metal. What tgiovan said: Just get a can of ANYTHING to cover it. Primer first would be nice. Even though you're just covering it up til you can get some proper paint on it, featheredge the area where the paint came off. Use maybe 220 grit. Then prime, sand again, and paint. Hell, just to waterproof it (primer is porous, and will allow rust to form if left unpainted) I've shot a bit of clear over the primer itself!
Have fun,
sorry to hear about your crash.

First find a red scotchbrite pad (auto store will know what it is) and scuff the rust off and surrounding paint. Apply etch primer. I think you can buy it in a can. Don't put it on heavy. then paint it temporarily with what tgiovan said with dupli-color. Etch primer is excellent corrosion protection.
