no brake piston

Default no brake piston

i was chageing my brakes today and i started to change the front.. i looked at it and there wasnt a brake piston.. any suggestions?

No piston, as in completely gone?

Are you sure it isn't just stuck in there? It should be a major hydrolic leak if there was no piston.

yeah i'll get a digital if i can.. i jjust looked at my other front brakes.. they are both gone.. my brother was like.. WTF where is that thing thats suppose to be there.. cause he has an integra and changed his brakes before..

nothings leaking .. its all dry.. all metal

The piston is hollow! Look at it, you should see the caliper housing, then a spherical rubber seal, followed by the spherical caliper. If the caliper is stuck out, compress them back in using a c-clamp, then step lightly on the brake pedal again but do not go to the floor, just enough to note movement. You will see the caliper slide back out. If there were no calipers there, you would not have any brakes and you would have wrecked a long time ago!

hmph.. i must double check again.. now looking closer at the picture i get what you guys are talking about.. i feel like an idiot h:.. thanks drumsy.. i have just been critisized all day

yeah, i was gonna say, with the brake pads out, the we see the bottom of the piston, which is like a hollow cylinder.
