I say take the turbo out and sell it, and put the money towards a complete kit

sorry with the delayed response to this but yea i pretty much ended up agreeing with the half ass comment. I ended up going to the car and the bolts were just rusted solid on the exhaust mainfold so i pretty much got the heat shield off and that was it. I decided i was an idiot for wanting to try and that i was def. wasting my time. So no i did not get the turbo.
DC2 is right the first gen turbo is a 14b and it is very difficult to find a manifold with the right flange. The only one that might work is the hks manifold since it uses a t-25 turbo and alot of 2nd gen dsm guys will use 1st gen 14bs since they have the same flange. So they key would be to find a manifold that is flanged for a t-25 and use your 14b on it. Anyway 14b will hold more boost with less pressure drop than the t-25 Their exhaust housings are of different size but the flange should be the same.
Dont expect any serious power gains with one of those turbos..if the eclipse was a 91, the 14b turbo is even weaker than the T25, and the T25, is an "above avergae" turbo at best. So I would say if your just looking to tinker with your car, learn a bit about engines and FI, than it is good for a first project. running 5 psi on a 14b, without intercooler, dont expect tu run 13s or 14s !
