Is it a must to replace my exhaust to accommodate turbo?
I currently use greddy evo, and I plan on getting the greddy kit with FMIC. I know that 2.5" to 3.0" is recommended for FI set ups, but do I really need to replace my exhaust? From I have read, evo is 2.36".
You don't NEED to, especially with the 18g that comes in the Greddy kit.
You will spool a bit quicker with a larger exhaust, but it wont be as much of a huge difference with that turbo as opposed to some of the larger options that come in Drag, RevHard kits, etc.
If you are looking for maximum potential, get some bigger piping. If you dont really want to drop the $ on an exhaust, youre not committing suicide or anything by leaving it on, its not that big of a deal.

at first you ll do just fine with 2.5" piping, but later down the road as you start to build the motor and upgrade the turbo and its related parts. you will want to go with a 3" system. We have customers who order 2.5" custom mandrel systems and love them and then later when they have made several upgrades they come back for 3" and love the gains.. they report and say how they get better spool and better throttle response.. pretty cheap to compared to the 500+ systems of Thermal and others.
