Default 94 Integra LS engine questions

I have a 1994 acura integra ls and i was wanting to know would it be better to get a Type R engine, a GSR engine, or just upgrade mine? It has approx 95,000 miles on it. If upgrade is best, what can i do to increase hp of my engine. Also what are some cheeper ways to improve my engine's performance?

Thanks All

I would say upgrade your system. The ls is a powerfull engine that works great with a turbo. If youre going to spend 3500- 4500 buying a gsr or a type-r engine, might as well spend 2000-2500 to turbo your ls. A type-r or a gsr would give you 170-190hp while the turbo ls can give you up to 220hp and still have it be a daily driver. The cheaper ways to improve your engine's performance would be Intake headers and exhaust; but if you want some serious power look into turboing your Ls, trust me it's worth every penny.

i have a 97 rs integra and i cant decide if i want to swap for a vtec motor. right now i have intake, exhaust, test pipe and a 65 shot of nitrous and it runs strong. i beat a stock s2000. i have 119,000 mile on mine and it is running fine. These are cheap upgrades and it certainly makes you quick. but the nitrous runs out which sucks.

If you're engine's in good condition, there should be no reason to swap it out. Turbo it and forget it... with a low level of boost and nominal tuning, you can have a reliable quick car.

It just depends on what supercharger youre planning on getting. A Jackson racing supercharger will give you about 30-40hp at the wheels. Which is not very much considering they cost about the same as a turbo. A vortech supercharger can give you about the same hp as a turbo, but my opinion is that a turbo is a lot more fun.
