Default installing a short shifter.......

is it bad for the tranny? i bought one and i was talking to a guy and he said that it tears up your tranny if you have more than 100k on your car. i thought it just reduced my throw. is he right?

The guy is a moron and full of crap.

Get a short shifter, your throws will be shorter and your tranny will be fine. Unless, of course, you like to grind your gears often.

if you know how to shift and dont grind, then you will be fine.

i have heard of a few people grinding more with a short shifter... maybe they just aren't used to it or something. i like mine

Short Shifters will place more stress on your synchrogears, but not so much to kill your tranny outright...

why would the short shifter do this? Also would this happen if u just chop the top off the stock one? Im thinkin about doing that cause i like the feel of the stock shifter. Unless 4bidden makes a teggy short shifter i wont buy anything else.

i have the skunk2 short shifter and it is awesome. i just bought some prothane polyurethane bushings and will put those in when i get my car back. even without the bushings, it is still a great feel. i highly recommend it
