Default Chip or Short Shifter?

Should I get a Chip put in my car next or a nice little short shifter?

Story
A guy in an early coupe model of a Mustang pulls up next to me and signals for me to roll down my window. So I do, and he says "Hey, why don't you take the lawn mower engine out of that ****in thing and go home?" To which I responded "Why don't you take that pile of shit home so maybe daddy can buy you something with some balls?" The guy was with his girlfriend or something and just looks at me and says "**** you!" He starts reving his engine so the light turns green, his tires spin and I just take off and put him in my rearview mirror. I extend my middle finger out of my window. The next light comes up and he pulls in to the turn lane, I'm just pointing and laughing at him. Ha!

Short shifter for sure. just make sure you get the 10-15 dollar urethane bushings from either prothane or ES.

Chips don't do much unless they're tailored for the actual mods you have on the car. The stock ECU as it stands is not really a limiting factor in making power. Unless the car has a lot of internal mods it is not going to really benefit from any changes to the stock ECU *unless* it is tuned on a dyno.

So...I'd get a shifter. Neuspeed and skunk2 both make nice ones.

for as im the biggest mustang freak, i hate little shits that drive cars like that and think thier the talk of the town or somethin, i guess they think every little honda or somethin has a basic economy motor, i guess they dont know people do swaps or anything, but that boy deserved it greatly.

for the shifter, im thinking of taking mine out, cause its so much easier to grind the 1-2 shift after all it still engages but you still hear it grind, but you really benefit the 2-3 shift and the 4-5 shift. with the normal shifter, i always had trouble getting into 5th gear fast when racing or somethin, but wiht the short shifter its much faster.

If you're racing and you need to shift into 5th geat, you're definitely going way too fast. Unless you're at the track, in which case I retract my statement.
