I'm having a problem with my short shifter. It rotates and I can't tell what's rotating. I've been under the car, we've taken apart the dash... nothing moves... the shifter just rotates. I need a new short shifter i think. I heard some rattle. What brands don't? Or, if you know why my shifter's rotating, please help!

Is it the actual shifter or just the shift knob? Your shift knob may be loose...

the skunk2 short shifter doesn't have any play in it...mine doesn't rattle at all

 

my skunk2 rattles. but i don't see how it could rotate. it has o bolt connenting it to the linkage so your whole linkage would have to rotate. are you sure its not the shift knob??

 

The linkage is connected... i.e. not rotating. The knob is fine. I am POSITIVE that it is the SHIFTER that is rotating. The shifter doesn't look like it's moving from under the car. I don't know what's up with it.
