any of you have ideas to why i've failed???

i only failed HC @ 15 and 25mph. :happysad:

my CO and NO content was perfectly fine, but my NO content for low was close. i'm 10 degree BTDC (retarded in other words)

my engine is completely new from a rebuilt and it has only 1200 miles on it.. :eh:

HC low = 131ppm , max allowed = 66

HC high = 59, max allowed = 49


what do you think i can do to rectify the problem? i spoke to my trusted muffler shop and they said to run my car at least 30 minutes and keep it revved before i get it tested.

new cat? i have no idea why ur hc is that high....maybe ur burning something

 

or not burning enough. HC usually form when exhaust, and unburned fuel doesn't react with the catalyst correctly..
