I'm guessing someone tried to break into it when the roof was partially open or tried to pry it open. We also had a water leak when it rained that kept filling the spare tire well. The Acura dealer had some water sealing company "fix the problem". I'm wondering if they pulled the glass loose and tried sealing it with windshield adhesive. I bought a used glass for $125 on Tuesday. The Acura dealer wanted $479 just for the glass not including installation. The salvage yard unbolted the whole moonroof assembly, then removed just the glass while I watched. So, I know how it's installed now and if it's more than the glass I'll go back and get the rest of the assembly. It would mean having to remove and replace the headliner though. I'll let you all know how it turns out after I get back from installing the glass on Saturday.

Thanks for all the quick and helpful responses!

Marty
Marty, I hope you know what kind of involvement it takes to access that moonroof. You start with the rear seats, then rear interior panel, then the lower side interior panels, then the upper side interior panels, then the a-pillar panels, then the dome lights, rear-view mirror, and sunvisors, then the grab bar (passenger side) and grab bar plugs (driver's side), and finally the roof lining.

Good luck!! It takes approximately 30 minutes to remove everything mentioned above.

Just got back from working on my daughter's sunroof. The glass did separate from the metal mounting frame. It looked like the glass pulled away from the adhesive. My daughter said the old glass did not have the Honda etching like the replacement glass and had a lighter tint.

Changing it was easy, only took about 15 minutes. I used the switch to pop the sunroof open, then was able to get to the 3 allen head screws on each side. I used a 3/8" ratchet, short 3" extension and a 5mm hex head socket. I made sure to put a folded shop towel between the ratchet and the glass to prevent it from striking the glass accidently. The used replacement glass went right in and the seal didn't leak when I checked it with the water hose afterwards.

Thanks everyone for your help!

Marty
