Unfortunately, I spend a significant amount of time driving in Los Angeles traffic, so my oil consumption is higher than, lets say, someone like Cheap Labour, who does mostly freeway (non-traffic cruising) driving.
I only use factory Honda oil filters.

Ummm, once you go synthetic, you can't go back! I dont think i will go synthetic, but u cant go back because synthetic is thinner than regular motor oil and super slippery, and it has alot of "minerals" that they say is better for your car. goin back to thicker stuff will screw up ur engine, and ur engine will be used to the synthetic stuff that it cant adapt back.

I've read some posts about not going back to dino oil from synthetic, but the main reason I went back was for the decrease in oil consumption.
By the way, my engine was NOT burning oil before I went synthetic, it started AFTER i used synthetic.
But thats just me.

imo changing at such high miles may hurt you more
over that 110k miles there is buildup and what not that is there from the conventional oil, changing to synthetic may affect that as well as cause you to burn more oil....there is a article ill try to find

a lighter oil does not resist heat as much as a heavier oil. When oil get hot, it gets thinner. Thinner oils can slip past rings, oil slipping past rings leads to consumption, consumption leads to empty oil pans, empty oil pans lead to hate, hate leads to blah blah
