Yes - the ECU is setting a code because it's getting an invalid reading from the oxygen sensor (or more correctly, because the oxygen sensor isn't there since you installed the test pipe). You need to fool the ECU into thinking the sensor is there, and that it's giving a correct reading.

If the sensor is just a variable resistance pull-up/pull-down, you can trick the ECU easily by simply inserting a proper resistance in place of the sensor. Unfortunately, I believe the exhaust gas O2 sensor may be a voltage generator-type circuit (it is on many other cars). This is pretty hard to 'simulate'. Maybe someone else can confirm/deny? Try a search on CEL eliminator or MIL eliminator or something like that too.

first of all this guy owns a mustang, second of all he is a canadain.

Don't listen to anything he has to say, and if he starts talking about socialized medecine RUN and contact your nearest counter-terrorist agency Dude, let's see some picks of the EL

Other dude: He's right, you can get an O2 simulator, but it's a fair amount of money, and it's not a performance mod really.

I reccomend switching to a chipped OBD1 P28, since you're car is OBD2b you'll need a x-over harness.

And of course I just happen to sell chipped ecus.

Nice side benefit, you will TOTALLY LOVE the new performance of your car

Hit me up on PM if you're interested.

There are plenty of ways to get rid of the light.

-Take out the CEL bulb.
-Convert to a carburator (or two.)
-Convert to an aftermarket fuel injection system (or chipped Honda ECU.)
-Convert to OBD-1
-Reinstall the cat and O2 sensor.
-Install an O2 sensor simulator.

Some work better then others, but all eliminate the CEL light.

And by bacon, do you mean bacon, or ham?
And I think by law you're only allowed one beer per nite up there, political correctness and all. Or worse yet, maybe ppl limit THEMSELVES to one beer a night, in a display of responsible self moderation, man I hate you bastards.

make a thread with pics of the EL man!

just a thought but just live with the MIL on and have your OBD scanned for codes every so often to make sure that the light is not on for any other reasons.
