Default Foggy Headlights

Has anyone had this problem, where your headlights look foggy?
i always see it on Tegs, and my Teg has it. I heard that with nail polish remover or toothpaste it comes out, i tried it and it helped a little. does anyone know anything else?:jlammy:

Same thing here, it is caused by rocks hitting the lens and making very small cracks in there and then the water gets inside and "fogs" it up. I dont see how acetone or toothpaste on the outside will get to the inside and clear it up, u just removed grim build up on the outside of the lens. New lens cost $375 each from dealer (kyoto lens) $180 each after market and fine some on ebay for about $220 a pair, (must ask seller if they aftermarket or OEM)

The only way to take care of this problem is to make sure they are sealed up and if this can't be done then ya need some new ones.

Both mine were replaced under warranty for this. Dealer said they never saw it before.

I think he means foggy as in the plastic is getting clouded, not foggy because of water vapor.

Toothpaste and nailpolish remover is a very primitive way of polishing out the oxidized plastic. The consistancey of the abrasives in those products is pretty poor, better just to use a car polish.

Meguiars Scratch-X, 3M Plastic Polish, both work excellent on headlights.
