Default Need help.. suspension?!? 95 Civic

Okay... I have a problem. I have a 95 civic with Arospeed coilovers, Sprint extreme camber kit, and 17" wheels with 205/40ZR/17 tires. My problem is that before I put the camber kit on, i had uneven wearing on my tires form the car being lowered and having no camber kit. I put the camber kit on and now the car constantly rubs (never rubbed before with the car lowered all the way - now it rubs with it raised a couple inches...???) and the steering is all over the road. It's terrible. Does anyone know where I went wrong or what I need to do? Please HELP!
Thanks.

You need an alignment first of all if the steering is all over the road.

The first thing I did was had the car aligned b/c I thought that was the first obvious problem. Why is the car bottoming out though? When I had only the springs on, you couldnt fit a finger between the fender and tire and it never bottomed out, now, i have to have it raised about 3 finger widths and with the camber kit installed, it bottoms out once in a while, when I left the car dropped, you couldnt drive it w/o constantly scraping, thats why its raised up.

You might need a diff offset rim man. This is a recent problem of mine as well. I had bad wear on my tires but never a rub and just about 2 weeks ago I put an Eibach camber kit on and had an alignment done and now I f'in rub all the time. I am going to get some new rims next year with the proper offset needed to correct this problem. This might be your only option as well.

2 things to check. offset of rims..and alignment. the camber kit will throw you toe in/out off. that is the reason why your steering is going all over the place. the front two tires are pointing away from each other. i suggest not to drive long distances nor fast until you get an alignment. what kind of rims are you running? do you know your offset? is your camber kit clearing the upper control arm in the wheelwell?

okay... I checked the alignment, I am running 17x7 TSW Trophy wheels. I am not sure of the offset. I dont understand why such a big problem form adding the camber kit which I thought was to correctly balance the tires on the road.

your camber kit will only correct camber. there are two other factors in suspension alignment. caster and toe. after installing your camber kit, your toe in/out is probably way off spec. thus why the car is going all over the place. the other factor of rubbing is that your tires are now straight up and down and not tucked in from the top. the bigger wheel/tire will now rub against the fenderlining and or splashguards.

what doood said. first order of buisiness, alignment. Second order of business, check offset of wheels, and try and find some wheels that sit further inboard. If that isn't feasible, a lower profile tire will can fix the rubbing, but will make the ride more harsh. Another option would be those aftermarket lower control arms that relocate your hub like an inch further inboard. Of course the easiest solution is to ditch your 17s

you can adjust it by turning the tie rods.

the only way to get your toe in/out adjusted correctly is by getting it done on an alignment rack.
