The stock CX engine is a 1.5 litre 8 valve. Don't bother doing anything to it, it is not going to be fast with that engine.
:thumbup:You need a swap. At least a D16Z6, but any B-series would be much better.

SOHC VTEC (D16Z6 or D16Y8) head on a D-series non-VTEC block, like yours.
The pistons used in the CX block have 16 valve reliefs, so you can mount a 16 valve head on it without a piston swap.
