well i bought the car with no motor and found a sohc non vtec moto with no trnay wire harness and shit for 150 and i need to kno wut all i need to put it in here cuz the car is for my girl cuz she needs a car to drive so the sooner i can get it together the better any help would be appericated a list of wut i need and how to do it would be great thanks tommy

Well assuming you have the engine in there and all the mechanical stuff has been taken care of (eg. proper axles, crx si hub conversion since you have the hf model) next comes the task of wiring. Since the Y7 is obd2 and the car you're putting it into is not... you will need an obd2 engine wiring harness along with an obd2 ecu. The other option would be to do an obd2-obd1 conversion and use an obd1 ecu. Note that the wiring will be a pain in the a$$.

the engine harness is OBD II, but everything else in the car is not. the engine harness plugs into the harness which goes into the car.

i'm not even sure if the engine mounts would line up. i believe the crx has a doughnut styled mount on the driver side and the d16y7 uses a different style. i'm sure that can be corrected, but then wiring will be a pain. unless you are very familiar with wiring, this is going to be a time consuming job. a better route is to look into using the HF engine harness and modify it.

You need the motor mount of a 88-91, a harness(the original one for your car) a 88-91 manifold, a 88-91 exhaust manifold, a 88-91 distributor and a 88-91 ecu. This is the eaisest way to do it. You will lose some power because you will be making the car a OBD-0 but you will barely notice it. That is everything for the engine. Have fun!!!!
