the regular pioneer decks are the run of the mill average everyday use decks the premier line was designed more for the show and competition use they are usually a higher quality in the internal parts, have more features, and of course cost a helluva lot more money same idea as the honda/acura thing regular decks would be hondas, premier decks would be acuras best analogy i could think up on the spot

Actually, it's not quite like honda - acura. Basically pioneer has their normal pioneer decks and then they have their premeir decks. The pioneer decks run from the deh-p1500, 2500, 3500, etc. all the way up to the 9400(4 because they carried that over from last yr.) The premeir versions are from the deh-p250 through the 940. You can tell because they drop a zero. The units look cosmetically exactly the same. However the premeir versions cost about $20 more, include a better remote(sometimes a steering wheel remote instead of a card remote), a different screen saver for the oel models, higher voltage preouts for the 750 and 940, and all premeir HU's come with a 2 yr warranty rather than the standard pioneer 1 yr warranty.
