Default 2001 ITR steering wheel on a '94 LS?

I've recently purchased a 2001 Type R steering wheel, which should be arriving any day. I'm worried that the SRS connector might not directly match to my hub, and I was wondering:

1)Will it fit fine?

2)If not, what can I do to get the airbag to work?

If you respond "What do you need an airbag for?" Include your address in your post so that I can come to your house and bitch-slap you.:fawk:

But I was in a head-on collision once. The airbag deployed, and I had no injuries whatsoever. The woman in the other car broke the windshield with her head, since her car didn't have an airbag and she wasn't wearing her seatbelts. I like the extra safety an airbag provides.

I have the same problem, it wont fit. The connector is different. Did you find a solution?

I ended up splicing the connector from the old steering wheel onto the new wheel. I cut the connecter off of my '94 wheel, cut the connector off the '01 wheel, and connected the '94 connector to the '01 wheel with wire splices and electrical tape.

I'm not sure if it would have worked in an accident (as I never tested that out), but the SRS light on the console went off, and everything seemed to fit together nicely.

You're lucky I still had e-mail notification turned on back when I made this thread. My Integra was stolen 3 years ago and I haven't been back to the Integra forum since. h:

Just for future reference, you can use your stock airbag that's meant for your early DC integra together with the newer 98-01 steering wheel. You don't have to splice.

Except, if like mine, the steering wheels were different colors. Well, I guess technically I could have, but I don't know that the taupe airbag module would go that well with the black leather wheel.
