Default What RPM should I drop at?

Ok, I'm going down to PIR for the first time to test the 1/4 time on my stock 92 GS. I've never raced it for time before, and I don't have much experience about which rpm to drop at to get the best 1/4 time. I've been toying with around 2,500, but im thinking i might want to go a little bit higher. Any thoughts, tips, and hits would be greatly appreciated.

lets just says launching at the track is completely different than launching on the streets, the streets are hella easy. I drop at around 3000-3500 rpms, just try different rpms and see whats good for you. Do you plan dropping the clutch and dumping it or are you going to feather it?? Oh yea go the on last yellow and just try it out, takes practice.

rev up to around 4 or 4.5 and slip the clutch.

Just replace your entire transmission to automatic, get some altezzas, and a type-R sticker for the back, some pink fuzzy dice, and you are set. No need to worry about rpm then. or you can just listen to the other people... but what do they know...

Go to the track and get comforable. Launch at an RPM that works best for the way you drive. I'm pretty sure we all launch a bit different. Have fun and enjoy your time.

he's puzzled...

goto a street and just practice. The best way to launch is the most comfortable for you to get the car going. Most people goto 3.5-4 and feater it.

id never "drop" the clutch, thats a big :nono:

Sorry, just wanted to use that icon. I launch at 4500-5500 on the street and slip the clutch. I don't reccomend dropping, cuz you either get too much wheelspin, or too little and bog. Then again, I have VTEC, so this info might not help too much. Go practice, everyone that I know sucks their first time at the track, I just read about a few people with GS-R's go out and run 16's on their first run, and then gradually work down the normal low 15 second time slips. It's all about practice.
