Sorry, just wanted to use that icon. I launch at 4500-5500 on the street and slip the clutch. I don't reccomend dropping, cuz you either get too much wheelspin, or too little and bog. Then again, I have VTEC, so this info might not help too much. Go practice, everyone that I know sucks their first time at the track, I just read about a few people with GS-R's go out and run 16's on their first run, and then gradually work down the normal low 15 second time slips. It's all about practice.
