Default hood vent @ cold air intake

What do you guys think of this...? I don't remeber where I have seen it...was sometime recently in a car magazine.
The vent was right over the air intake and similarly like in the pic I have produced...with the only difference that it was the other way around, as in it wasn't scooping the air but rather just letting air in...

Anyone have it? Any good to do it? Some input please...

PS.: I know I can't buy it but I'll have it custom made if I decide for it...

Yech, I wouldn't do it.

If you want a ram air/air tunnel thing I would do something along the lines of this.

hood vents that open up towards the rear are meant to help remove hot underhood air by sucking it out using the low pressure created at the opening (same principle as when you have the sunroof cracked open while driiving and more air comes through the dashboard vents).

you really want a hole in your hood for that little of a gain?

Well I wouldn't really mind having a "vent" there considering there are so many other vented hoods on the aftermarket scene.

And I wouldn't put the vent there to create a ram air like system but more for a surplus of cool air...
