Short shifter installation
Hi guys,
I had the short shifter that needed to be install. I remove the console and got down to the shift booth, but I couldn't find a way to remove it. Do I have to remove the whole shiftbooth, which was a huge metal cover on top of the shifter.
My car is 95 by the way.
Thanx

I tried to it myself and got the whole area a part, when I realized there is a bolt under the car that needs to be undone. Go to www.team-integra.net They have (at least they use to, not sure about now) step by step instruction for taking apart your integra.
It's best if you just unbolt the shift linkage rod from the shifter and then remove the shift exchange (stationary) rod and shifter from the car altogether. That makes changing the actual shifter alot easier. I had to unbolt my B-pipe from my rear section to do this.
it helps to have an extra set of hands. my dad and i put in my friends Skunk 2 short shifter into his GSR and it helped to have someone hold the shift linkage and all the other stuff in order to remove bolts and put bolts back in.
Thanks guys,
However, the problem is I couldn't see where to start with. I guess I have to look at Chilton's manual to see how to take it apart. I am not very good at things like this anyway, and with what you were saying, seem like you were assuming that I have a basic background. To me, pictures or diagrams work best. Well, since it's gonna take a while, I'm gonna try this weekend.
