Default BAD idealing

Ok here it goes. I have a 97 accord. Some times when I’m behind a red light or just idealing my car ideals rough. Usually not when the ac is on. And its not always. My rmp drops well below 1 and I feel like the car is about to turn off. Is there something wrong with my vacuum, timing, spark or wiring? I have ngk spark wires and new spark plugs, rotor and distributor cap (less than 5k miles)? Would i need to clean my injectors and throttle body or its something else?

Thank you for any info

p.s.
whats the best way to clean the throttle and injectors?

could be that the IDLE (u spelled it incorrectly but just a beginners mistake) is set to low u can adjust it by turning up the idle adjusting screw, its probably not a vacume leak unless the rpms are bouncing (going up and down) timing should be fine unless u played with it, if uve got new plugs and plug wires they should be fine right? might be injectors, u might want to run some injector cleaner, and with the car running and someone steppin on the gas a little around 2k rpms spray some water directly into the intake with like an old windex bottle or something, the finer the mist the better, just a few sprays every 10 seconds, this will help if there are any carbon deposits, check the butterfly valve on ur intake manifold for signs of crud, if its relatively clean ur throttle body probably is ok and doesnt need cleaned but there are over the counter cleaners available at any parts store (autozone), with regular maintanance the car shouldnt have idle issues unless the idle screw just needs adjusted, make sure u do ur normal (spark plug/plug wires/cap and rotor/oil changes/etc. ) maintanance to maintain ur car in good working order. best way to clean ur injectors is to pull them off the fuel rail (or more of an accurate statement pull the fuel rail off them) and remove them and let them soak in a cleaner made to clean them. there is a cleaner called GUNK which works well for cleaning the fuel system as well as STP. good luck

If I spray water in the intake, doesn’t that cause hydro lock?

only if u get over a tablespoon in the cylinders but as ur running the car its constantly burning it out as well as breaking up any carbon build up built on the side walls and it burns it thru the engine, if ur just spraying water into it u can hear it slow down, just spray it slowly, this is the same as any other carbon buildup cleaner so dont be afraid to try it, if u want take a look at an intake manifold cleaner at ur local autozone and read the instructions on there, almost all of them are used the same way. its not easy to hydrolock the car unless ur "dumping" water into the intake, small amounts will just blow right thru. but ur looking for a fine mist thru a squirt bottle like 2 sprays every 10 seconds and u'll hear the engine slow down and rev back up while ur doing it.

Hey, I wanted to do this sea foam to my car to clean up idle problems. But not sure how to get the sea foam in my engine. I think I need to use the hose from my CAI and have it suck up 1/3 of the sea foam and then my car will turn off. leave it for a while then turn it on? is that it or did I miss something? your help is greatly appreciated.

97 accord idle is electronically controlled...don't use the base idle screw to try and change idle. it will make the car idle incorrectly in other conditions.

try the other ideas first...if it usually happens when it is humid/rainy out, try replacing the spark plug wires with factory wires.

just talked to a tech here...he suggests injector cleaning, also the valves are known to be tight on 96-97 accords, and there tends to be a carbon buildup that causes rough idle sometimes. he suggested going to autozone and getting something called "B-12" and putting it in your car, then going for a long drive. he says it worked great for his car.

i've never tried the stuff, i'm just tellin you what he said.
