Default Vortec Supercharger

Does anyone know if the Vortec Supercharger will fit in my Civic GSR with little to no problem? And if Vortec makes an aftercooler for the GSR kit. I see it on the site, but some say they dont make it. Reason i ask is that there is a group buy for superchargers on groupbuycenter.com
Thanks
Matt

It could probably fit with some modifications, but the vortech kit is a big waste of money. You should look into a turbo kit or a JRSC.

Does the JCRS have an aftercooler yet for the GSR application? If not ill go with my original plan and turbo. Can anyone get me a good deal on a kit?

JRSC doesn't come with a intercooler, although an air to air can be fitted with plenty of modification. The vortech uses an air to water "aftercooler" wich is kinda a pain in the ass, less consistent than an air to air, but good for drag racing since you can fill the tank with ice water. The gsr one should fit in a swapped civic just fine, but i'm not sure about hood clearance.

You should also look into the procharger. It comes with a 2 or 3 core air to air FMIC and makes more consistent power than the vortech, and is easier to install supposedly. Space should also not be an issue, its smaller than the vortech, and doesnt have that big intercooler on top, but in the front bumper. Not too many people have those, they only designed the honda/acura kit pretty recently but it seems like a very good product.

I looked up the procharger and it does look like a nice product. Can anyone get good prices on them? or know a place that has them for a decent price?

as far as I know, you have to buy it directly from procharger.. I don't think there are any other distributors or vendors. Their ph. # is 913-338-2886. They quote the price at $3596, but I don't know how firm that is... thats with the 2 core FMIC (capable of supporting 450-500 hp) the 3 core FMIC is $300 more.

Yea they also sell them on superchargeronline.com. I forget if the price is any better then that. Im kind of hesitant on going with the procharger because after doing some research i have heard people say that their customer service is horrible once you have the product. Also that their seals can go bad fast or just leak oil from the start, and their brackets are crap. Not sure if i should actually take all that stuff to heart or not. But i guess ill keep doing some research and see what i can find. Im contemplating if i should just go back to trying to find a good price on a Drag Gen 3 turbo kit or a Rev hard kit. Decisions Decisions......

turbo is definitely the easy way... thats why so many people do it. Its also why (besides the fact that it sucks for autocross) I would hesitate to do it... good to be a little different.

You should try and find people who acutally have it (there arent that many) and get their opinions... First hand experience is really the only information you can trust.
