Default What are you rolling on 17" or 18"?

I keep on going back and forth with rims size. I would like to go with 18's on my 2000 coupe but I'm afraid of what I have heard about 18's (decrease in gas, turning radius, acceleration, ride quality, and breaking). My biggest concern is ride quality especially in NJ. I was going to put 225/40/18 with Eibach Pro-Kit and Tokico Blue. This car is a daily driver and not for show or racing so I don't need anything fancy just something that will ride close to stock or should I just screw it an go with 17's with 215/50/17. Let me know what wheels/tire/shock/spring set-up you would recommend.
Thanks

Welcome.

I have 18's with 225/40's.

If you want that "larger than stock wheels" look, go 18's. If your main concern is ride quality as you mentioned, get 17's.

17's look pretty big on the 5th gen accords, but our cars a bit bigger, larger wheel arches, etc. I think you need 18's to fill them out if you are going for the "look".

And "turning radius" shouldn't really be affected if you have the right size tires. But like you said, you'll see small declines in accel, brake, etc.

I don't worry too much about it because my car was slow to start with. One tick slower isn't going to kill me.

What tires would you recommend? I need one that will perform ok in light snow. I was thinking of Toyo FZ4.

i have motegi mr-7s in 17" w/ nitto 215/45-17 tires & an eibach pro-kit (1.5" ) drop on factory shock/struts

I was gonna go 18" but I drive 100 miles to/from work everyday & it'd be too expensive to have to buy tires every 6-9 months
