The glue on the steering wheel has seem to worn away after years of heat. What I mean is if I am holding the top of the wheel I can twist it back and forth. Is there any type of a glue that they sell that can be injected into it to fix this problem? Just thought I would see if any of you guys might know a fix to this.

yeah i was just noticing that the other day on my accord too, that i can flex the top part back and forth. I would also like to know if there is a way to stiffen it up.

 

How weird. I thought that it was just my car that was doing that steering wheel thing...

 

My Civic is doing that now to. I didnt think it was a big deal, but I bought a Sparco steering wheel to replace it.

 

no quick fixes that I know of. It is the deterioration of the rubbers inside the steering wheel due to heat and UV. Best solution, purchase a replacement steering wheel from vendor. When you get your new one, apply a steering wheel cover to it

 

I notice that on my 92 accord too. I think it also has to do with the way a person hold the steering wheel. If you have a tendency to hold the steering wheel from the top and you let your arm hang, your unknowingly aplying downward pressure on it. Along with the sun and heat this will pull the plastic/rubber material away from the metal frame inside. I have seen this happen many times and the one thing in common is exsesive wear from the area where it coming apart. Anyway a little too much of a explanation but those are my 2 cents.
