Hi there, I've got a 95 Civic that has been making popping noises when I turn for quite a while now. I understand that is caused by the CV joints wearing out, but the car has now started to jerk suddenly to the left while driving. It occurs randomly, in short, sharp little jerks of the wheel. The car itself barely quivers while this happens. Is this evidence that the CV joint is so badly worn that collapse is immanent? I found this post which said that it might be the tie rod ends. Does anyone have any other advice about what it might be, and most importantly if I should try to drive home from Orange County to LA this evening? It's 50 miles on the freeway, probably considerably more on surface streets.
same thing happened to me in my 94 civic. finally the day i bought the replacement axle i was pulling out of the parking lot and the joint finally made a loud pop and i wasnt going anywhere.
