Home theatre audio gurus
Which of these three is the better bang for the buck?
I would probably be getting a 5.1 set-up but would like the ability to upgrade or add in the future. I don't think the dual sub feature is a must so a 7.1 will suffice. But I would like to put all my accessories (PS3, XBox, etc) through it. I don't fully know the benefits of HDMI pass-through and HDMI conversion. I would like to stay in the $400-$600 range for the receiver. Speakers will come later
If you like a better receiver please post it up and why it would be better than these three.

I <3 my Onkyo....never had a problem with it at all. They make awesome stuff.

if you buy an onkyo make sure you can pass through audio and video via HDMI. On the older and low end models you can only pass through video and you have to hook up audio separately (its a pain in the ass).
in newer receivers, you're pretty much buying modest-mediocre amplification and lots of unnecessary features
just go for the features you NEED from a reliable brand and spend your budget on better speakers
here is why some features might not be any beneficial to you
dobly pro logic 2: if you've got a typical apartment w/ 8foot ceiling, having extra "heighted" speakers up front won't help w/ the soundstage
7.2 in a typical 15x18 living room, where do you place all the extra surrounds?
dual subs = bleh, you can just daisy chain or use splitters
auto calibration (audyssey alike systems) - though it isn't necessarily bad to have, but DRC will not overcome the deficiency of badly designed speakers, if anything, you're just distorting the speaker drivers for an even frequency response
