Default Boosting a Civic is it bad??

Is it bad to have your car boosted? my 2000 civic has been parked for 7 months and I've boosted it once a month a let it run for quite awhile. The battery dies about 3-4 days later. I've heard that boosting a newer car can destroy the ecu, and create other problems is this true ?

it's rough on the battery.....usually leads to premature failure....you might already have a bad battery, so who cares....just expect to have to replace your battery quicker than what the books or other people say....as for the ecu, any sudden change in current can fry it.....some people check the alternator by pulling off the cable while it's idling.....thats really bad....

well, to start civics were never meant to be boosted, but ppl do it anyways, as long ur at a reasonable psi, then its fine, and yes it does wear down ur engine quicker, but only reasons i can see go wrong is too much psi, inproper tuning, insuffient fuel supply, or poorly put together turbo.

well u would want to break the car in a bit before you boost. there r alot of factors that can lead to a disaster.

if you'd read the post, you'd realize he's talking about jumping the car... jumper cables...

If boosting the car was bad they wouldn't tell you how to do it in the owners manual. Oh yeah, to prevent future confusion, the proper term is jumping, not boosting.

PS: I thought he was talking about turbos by the title of the thread as well.
