Default VTEC wiring into a 94 Civic DX

I think I've read to much info and now I'm confused. Can someone please explain to me how wires are added and how "re-pinning" works? I've read page after page and I can't find anything detailed. This would be for a B18c5 into a 94 Civic DX coupe.

Here's some info about the ECU pinout: http://www.hybridgarage.com/tech/5gt...html#ECUpinout

And here's what you wire to where: http://www.hybridgarage.com/tech/5gt...ex.html#B18EG6

I don't imagine that the B18C5 would be that much different than the B18C1, but this page says you need to do the OBDII conversion for a C5.. :dunno: I did a C1...

No conversion needed. I've read that I can just use a reprogrammed ecu(not sure of the code right this second) and keep my obd1 harness. I understand on what to wire and where. I just don't get how you add wires to your harness. Say I need to add VTEC wire, how do I get VTEC wired from the motor harness into the ecu harness? Am I simply running a piece of wire and soldering somewhere? Or am I somehow sticking it into the plugs?

Well, you need to trace the wire from the actual VTEC solenoid (for example) back to where it plugs into the harness going into the car. The VTEC wire goes to one of the connectors on the passenger side right at the strut tower. Use a continuity tester to make sure you have the right wire. When you're sure, you can either cut the wire or just splice into it and then run it to the ECU yourself.

Check out this tutorial: http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/b18cswap/swap4.php

Their wiring is a little vague and it really messed me up so don't read that part, but you can see how they ran the wiring.
