Default Ultimate Turbo Setup

You have $10k.. your car is a light weight civic... (92-95 hatch or 96-98 coupe) ditch the stock motor.. take the $10k and build the best turbo motor.. what kind of motor would you get?? and what turbo?.. and how much boost could your push and what kind of power would you expect to make?? B20vtec, lsvtec, b18, b16, h22a, etc.. this is my summer project car and i need ideas to be the ultimate street turbo sleeper setup.. ?

I'd grab a b18b, sleeve it, new rods & pistons, touch up the head, VictorX intake manifold, turbo setup, exhaust, AEM PEMS, call it a day.

VTEC isn't bad for turbos, I just wouldn't pay to get it if you don't already have it. That money is best spent elsewhere if you're headed for a turbo, IMHO.

Save some of that money for drivetrain. Power's no good if you can't get it to the ground.

Correct me if I'm wrong or with outdated info... but I think the world record holder for front wheel drive cars (honda at least) is a Civic hatchback with a h22a with huge turbo setup.

I'm not too smart with engines, but I saw some video's of it, it was very very impressive.

That H22 car is a tube fram chassis with "Civic" body work.

With 10 grand I would take a B18C and pop in some forged rods and pistons. Good port/polish job on the head, some kind of turbo-specific cams, Extrude Honed skunk2 manifold (Victor X is peaky for my tastes), 70mm throttle; slap on the standard turbo goodies on top of that. Turbo trim, I dunno off the top of my head but I'd have to do some calculations.

Is there an actual point to this thread or are we just trading imaginary setups?
