Default Titanium Retainers

I was wondering if anyone had a preference on Ti Retainers. I've seen two brands both advertised for 160 on various sites. The two brands are port flow and skunk2. I'm gonna upgrade my valve train. My head is already in the machine shop and some of the brands I'm getting inhouse, but they want 190 for retainers. That's my story, so if you guys could shoot your opinions my way it'd be much appreciated.

In general, retainers are retainers, and Skunk2 and Portflow are both equally reliable companies. Get whichever is cheaper.

Retainers are not always retainers. Check the specs on them to see if you can use them with your springs. Many retainers are not the same size as stock and also give different sping installed height and can't be used with stock springs. Just call the manufacturer first. I have used the Skunk2 and the Crower, and the Skunk2 is a little more stout but is a little heavier.

Interesting bit of information.

The Portflow retainers are, to the extent of my knowledge, stock fitting, as their most common application is with a combination of ITR and Portflow springs.

BTW those ITR springs are about some of the best things available. Turned over 9000 with no problems (with OEM retainers).

ITR retainers or other B series?

When swapping in the ITR springs I have always put in a new set of the ITR retainers and locks for safety but honestly couldn't tell you if they are the exact same PN as the other B series. Probably are but I never looked up the PN of the standard B series retainers.
