niiiice. thanks man. also another question. what is the offset we should look for? as high as possible? at least 42mm for 17x7 and 45mm for 17x7.5 or 18x7.5? is a compression test and leak test a must when looking at the car?

cool, thanks a lot guys. with a 40mm offset, will i scrub with the fender? or still be somewhat tucked in?

so basically for inspection, i should just look at the belts, hear it idle, test drive it, anything else? i can't think of anything else. do the dollar bill at the tip of exhaust?

hey
my friends is selling his dark green 96 EX V6 4dr auto: its FULLY loaded with leather, moonroof, alloys, power drivers seat etc. it has 80000mi, but it has been REALLy well maintained. i know this cuz he always asks me when to bring the car in for service . the car is simply beautiful. Id buy it, but i already have an accord :P

the car is completely stock, except for indiglo gauges that igot him for his b-day. it has titanium tint (front 23%, rear 9%) with lifetime warranty, and a clifford alarm. the only thing it needs is new tires. otherwise its in perfect condition. the paint is glossy as heck, the motor is as smooth as can be.

the V6 is nice, but don't expect a lot of bolt on performance....the market is just not there.

for 4 cyls:
Things to look out for/expect the gas gauge might not work. the balancer shaft seal needs to be clipped by the deal or you'll end up dumping all your motor oil in about one minute. Paint quality is often suspect. look for rust in the wheel wells. the exhaust will rust out.

look for the basics, maintenance records and general condition.

Also depending on the miles, you might want to double check to see if the water pump/timing belt has been replaced.

I got lucky, I found my 97 EX 5-spd coupe in 99 with only 24k miles for 15k.

Of course, now I have 115k miles on it .. damn I drive too much.
