so my dad got xm radio with his new silverado that he bought. it was like a month trial, so then he bought a year subscription. he said he can listen to it in his truck and on his computer, if i buy him an xm radio "boom box" type shit, will he be able to listen to it on that too?

basically.. if you have an account, you can use xm radio in anything, wherever, anywhere? i assume you can.

those boom box things are designed to work with a receiver. the boom box is just a speaker / power supply / antenna for a receiver. also an account only covers 1 receiver, the truck has its receiver as part of the internal radio system.

the online aspect just registers that you are a user and lets you listen online. im actually listening online right now, the merger went through about 2 months ago and they consolidated alot of the channels.

I went and got a subscription and then the merger went through and they took the punk channel off for some stupid conglomeration of garbage. I canceled my subscription after emailing back and forth about whether the channel was coming back...final answer was to listen to the new one since it incorporated the old one. Nothing like hearing NOFX followed by ACDC
