Default Distributor question

My mechanic, while looking at a massive oil leak that started after I had it in to his shop, tells me my distributor is bad, and is contributing to the leak. Is this possible? Also, I have a 93 accord I'm bringing to the yard with a distributor I had worked on not 6 months ago, its the same 4cyl non-vtec engine...can the distributor from the 93 be used on my 96 accord? Any help is appreciated!!

Yeah your distibutor can leak from the seal, you cant stick a used one on because it will leak too. You need a new distributor to stop the leak

...so Distributors can only be put on a car once? I had the one on my 93 worked on (new ignition module and coil) in July...so if I can't reuse my existing one, does anyone have a good source for replacements?

Thats what I thought...This leak started immediately following the repair of an oil leak at the alternator. My mechanic is saying that after he fixed a leak on another part of the engine, it caused an increase in pressure throughout the engine and caused a leak to develop in a seal on the distributor...As I understood it, the distributor was an electrical component, having nothing to do with oil...any thoughts?
