Well with Tyler joining the Maula clan, I decided to pick up an entry level DSLR to take a few better quality pics. I figure the money spent on the camera will pay dividends over the years.

Initially I was looking at some of the really nice cameras - Nikon d80/Canon 40d, but went small and cheap with the Canon XT.

Got a decent deal on it and even with the kit lens the pictures are fantastic. Here a few shots with the camera.

I know I'm the ultimate noob when it comes to photography and my pictures aren't the best, but we all have to start somewhere.

I'm reading all the media that came with the camera and am trying to learn as much as I can by asking and looking at examples. Anyway... Here are some updated shots.

Yeah.. i know the glass is way more important, and the guy holding the camera. I've looked at lenses and think I'll wait till i get more comfortable taking pics to dive into better glass. I realize now how much this hobby can break the bank.

I outgrew my XT's capabilities real fast. but its still a good camera.

I recommend buying the XT specific how-to dvd's.
