The only hope is that the news source is wrong. Something like this shouldn't be guessed about though.
Patrick Swayze, best known for his role in Dirty Dancing, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and told that he has just five weeks to live.
Swayze, 55, has been sick with the disease since he was diagnosed in late January with pancreatic cancer. The cancer has since spread to other organs and now the actor/dancer is dying.
For the past month, Swayze has been traveling to Stanford University’s prestigious cancer center in Palo Alto for radical chemotherapy, but his doctors are no longer optimistic that the treatments will be successful, according to the National Enquirer.
Swayze received three treatments of chemotherapy, causing the tumor to shrink, but less than his doctors had hoped for. He was then told that he should prepare for the end.

steve jobs had pancreatic cancer ... he told the doctors to fuck off and he went with a "herbal" treatment program of a special diet and whatnot ... would ya believe it didnt work and he had to go back and get the surgery he didnt believe in in the first place :shake:

That 5 week prediction is almost certainly erroneous; doctors never give predications with that type of accuracy. They might say "a few months," but medicine isn't accurate enough to narrow it down to "5 weeks." I spent a couple years running research trials in our oncology department and never once heard "you have 5 weeks to live."
That might just be exaggeration on the reporters part, though. Pancreatic cancer is nasty stuff.
