That 5 week prediction is almost certainly erroneous; doctors never give predications with that type of accuracy. They might say "a few months," but medicine isn't accurate enough to narrow it down to "5 weeks." I spent a couple years running research trials in our oncology department and never once heard "you have 5 weeks to live."

That might just be exaggeration on the reporters part, though. Pancreatic cancer is nasty stuff.
