thats some major fucking crosswind there, thats one hell of a pilot to be able to keep that thing from crashing AND take back off

I saw something not as bad but similar here with a refueler trying to land, but they pulled up before touchdown.

 

i've never been on a flight where they abandon the landing at the last second and then hit full thrust but i've heard the force is completely nuts.

now add to that the runway sliding back and forth out from under you... :noes:

 

It's amazing that they'd even make the attempt in a crosswind like that.

I've been on an aborted landing before, but only because ATC sent a plane across the runway right in front of our approach. And yes, when they throttled back up and got the hell out of there, we all felt it.

This one OTOH, is just insane. :eek3:
